We’re getting outfitted for a Gold Rush this year at VBS! If you want to learn more about what VBS is like at Faith Church, just read below all about last year!

VBS 2010

What a wonderful week of VBS we had this year! Children were taken beyond what they could explore with their senses to discover a living spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

We had 120 students roaming the halls of Faith Church the week of July 11th – July 15th, with a closing program on July 16th for everyone. Our VBS theme this year was SonQuest Rainforest. Each night the students heard a different bible story. On Sunday they were taught the truths of the Parable of the Sower. They understood the importance of not only hearing God’s word, but also living it out everyday. On Monday the children listened to the Parable of the Lost Sheep. They discovered what it means to be lost and how each one can be found by Jesus to become part of God’s family. On Tuesday they learned about the Parable of the Good Samaritan. They were inspired to share God’s immeasurable love with others! Then on Wednesday it was the Parable of the Friend at Midnight. Students were taught that there is a peace that comes from knowing that anytime if the right time to pray to Jesus. And on Thursday students listened to the Parable of the Talents. They discovered what it means to love God by doing their best. All these lessons provided the students with an experience of discovery that many will never forget!

Students not only enjoyed learning about these parables, but they also had fun in music each night as well as crafts, games and snack! It was a fun filled week that ended on Friday evening, July 16th with a closing program for the whole family to enjoy, starting with a slide show of pictures from through-out the week. Then we all headed outdoors to “more fun.” Through-out the week students had opportunities to earn tickets to be used at the “Rainforest Café” on Friday evening. We had a store where items could be purchased (with the earned tickets), bouncy house, food and a balloon artist. What a perfect evening it was!!
