In 1967, the Conference Missionary Society of the Evangelical Congregational (EC) Church asked pastors to suggest areas where a new EC Church could be started. Rev. David Heil, then pastor of Grace EC Church in Lancaster City, suggested an area east of Lancaster. Rev. Heil's proposal was approved and land was purchased along Old Philadelphia Pike.

Initially, this new congregation worshipped in the facilities of Locust Grove Mennonite School. The first worship service was held on September 22, 1968 with fifty-six persons in attendance. Rev. Heil continued to pastor this new congregation until May on 1969 when Rev. David Heffner was appointed as the first full-time pastor. It was also in May of 1969 that Faith EC Church was received into the membership of the Eastern Conference of the EC Church.

On Sunday, March 28, 1971, the newly constructed church building was dedicated to be used for the glory of God and the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since then the original church structure has been enlarged on two occasions.

Now over 40 years later, we celebrate the ministry which the people of Faith Church have carried on since that time. We also look forward with anticipation as to how God is going to continue to use this congregation of believers to impact this community and through missions the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
